“I can help somebody along the way, then my living won’t be in vain” Annie Wren is married to Rodney Wren and they have two children, and nine grandchildren. Annie is the Chairman and Founder of TK FOUNDATION. She’s a native of Amite Louisiana, thirteenth child of the Late Wesley and Olivia McKnight. Graduated from Amite High school in 1981, went on to study Office Administration at Southeastern Louisiana University. Received a Medical Assistant’s License from Coastal College. She has worked in Healthcare for more than 35yrs, and currently employed by DaVita Inc. She is a very passionate, caring, and inspiring about uplifting those who have been affected by cancer. In an effort to assist those suffering more effectively, Mrs. Annie is a Certified Life Coach from American University of NLP. The Functioning spirit to begin a Foundation journey, came from above. She lost a sister (Tommie Kay) in 1995, one day shy of her 35th birthday to breast cancer, and seen firsthand the devastation of life, and how it affects the individual, by caring for her sister. Annie is also under the care of a breast specialist, because of family history and her medical findings. She planned the first breast cancer event in October 2011, in Amite, LA with a small participation, but never looked at the numbers in the natural realm. In October 2012 the second breast cancer walk took place, and the participation grew. December 2014 TK Foundation gave first proceeds back to the community of much need. TK continues to support by giving scholarships to high school graduates, supporting with transportation and providing for those who are newly diagnosed, providing chemo care packets, hosting breast cancer walks , and raising breast cancer awareness. Annie received her Missionary license in July 2014, at The Church of Jesus Christ Apostolic Ministries. She speaks at many engagements; such as, What is a Purpose Filled Woman, Women of Wisdom, Women in White, The Dream Team, at local churches about the goodness of our Savior, and strives to fulfill the purpose of her calling. Annie enjoys cooking for her husband, and grandchildren, volunteering time with senior citizens, visiting the sick, Grief Share, making women feel and look good. Annie’s hope lies deep within that she, along with the help of others, to raise enough awareness to find a cure for cancer.
